STEAG, Germany is the main shareholder of İSKEN - İskenderun Electricity Generation and Trade Co., Inc., investor of the İskenderun - Sugözü Thermal Power Plant Project, which has a net capacity of 2 x 605 MW.

Siemens Power Generation Group “KWU” is the leader of the EPC contracting consortium.

The project’s scope covers turnkey construction of a coal fired power plant and desulphurisation system together with all auxiliary facilities, 2 steam generators and auxiliaries, water supply, water and sewage treatment units, imported coal off-loading jetty, intra-facility coal transportation, slag treatment and sea water cooling systems, operation, offices and warehouse / storage buildings.
