Saztube - Yelemez - Aporni Crude Oil Pipeline scheme was Tekfen’s first project in Kazakhstan and covered construction of:

6” x 26 km crude oil pipeline from Saztube to Yelemez,
10” x 62 km crude pipeline from Yelemez to Aporni,
2 Scraper Trap Stations, 2 Mainline Valves and Cathodic Protection System were also within the project scope,
2 Railway Crossings (2 x 30 m) and one Road Crossing of 25 m were successfully implemented.

The pipeline transports crude oil of Saztube and Yelemez fields to the main line crossing nearby Aporni which connects Western Kazakhstan fields to Samara (RF). The oil fields are operated by Kazaktürkmunay Ltd., a J.V. of Turkish Petroleum Co., Inc. and Ministry of Geology of Kazakhstan.

Seamless pipes as per API 5L Gr. B standard were supplied by the client. Tekfen was responsible for the supply of all other material (line valves, fittings, scraper traps, cathodic protection and wrapping material).

Tekfen successfully accomplished the project within the schedule despite harsh winter conditions of Kazakhstan.
