The Enhancement of Crude Export Facilities Project is consisting of the construction of eight new crude oil storage tanks, each with a net operating capacity of 618.000 Bbbls, and their associated facilities in EPCC basis. The purpose of the project is to increase the total crude export capacity and to improve operating reliability and flexibility. The project is developed in two portions:
The Caspian Basin is important for world energy markets because of its potential in oil and natural gas reserves.
STB-1 Barge Upgrading Works Project is another challenging scheme undertaken by Tekfen in Azerbaijan.
Transportation and installation of DQ1 (Production Drilling & Quarters Platform) and of C&WP (Compression & Water Injection Platform) and of their jackets to be built for Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil fields of AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company), were contracted to Saipem S.p.A. (Italy). Tekfen-Azfen* J.V. undertook upgrading works of the STB-1 Barge which was to carry out the transport of these two platforms to the oil fields located in the Caspian Sea.
Manufacturing and erection of the additional ballast systems for STB-1 Barge and preparation of the test-weights for the crane vessel (DBA) were also undertaken by Tekfen-Azfen J.V. within the same scope.
Manufacturing and erection works of 1.250 t steel and 125 t piping systems were successfully carried out within the barge-upgrading scheme.
*Azfen is a partnership between Tekfen and SOCAR, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.
